About Us
Sound Veterinary Care is a sole-veterinarian practice dedicated to bringing expert diagnostic imaging directly to your clinic. Founded and operated by Dr. Jonathon Graas, the practice was built on the belief that every pet in Hawaii deserves access to specialist-level diagnostics, regardless of which island they call home.
Clinical Excellence & Experience
Dr. Graas is a graduate of the Western College of Veterinary Medicine in Canada and has been practicing in Hawaii since 2018, serving as an emergency veterinarian at Waipahu Waikele Pet Hospital.
Dr. Graas has performed thousands of ultrasound studies, and has developed a strong foundation in ultrasound image acquisition. Through years of close collaboration with board-certified cardiologists and radiologists, he has refined his ability to recognize clinically significant findings and obtain diagnostically precise studies that support accurate interpretation and timely patient care.
Committed to maintaining the highest standard of diagnostic quality, Dr. Graas works closely with specialists to ensure referring veterinarians and pet owners receive clear, reliable information to help guide treatment decisions and improve patient outcomes.
As a Trusted Partner of Cardiac Vet, Dr. Graas has a long-standing relationship with their team of world-class cardiologists. After collaborating closely with their cardiology team for more than five years, he can personally attest to the quality, consistency, and thoroughness of their reports. This collaborative approach has helped provide timely diagnoses and improved outcomes for countless pets across Oahu.
Although his practice occupies much of his time, Dr. Graas is an active participant in island life. He is an avid hockey fan and still hits the rink at the Ice Palace on Oahu (even if he admits his age is starting to show!). An enthusiast of Hawaii’s natural beauty, he also enjoys spending time below the surface practicing underwater photography.
Dr. Graas is also deeply committed to animal welfare in the islands. He is a proud supporter of Cat People of Oahu and other local pet charities, providing them with dedicated care and imaging services to help the most vulnerable members of the pet population.
Meet Dinah, Bobbi, and Honey Bun.
Meet the feline welcoming committee! Honey Bun is Dr. Graas’ resident calico and trouble maker. You’ll often find her napping with Dinah or eating all of Dr. Graas’ plants. Dinah is the oldest cat of the pride and she is best admired at a distance. The newest additional to the trio is Bobbi. Bobbi is still working on learning her name and is a bit of a scardey-cat, but she warms up real fast.
